Listserv

The Cherokee District has a Listserv at district-l@listserv.uga.edu. Listserv is an email distribution program. When a subscriber sends email to the list, it is distributed to every other subscriber. This provides a quick way to distribute information to Cherokee District leaders. There is no charge to use the list. The list and list archives are also web accessible.

The list is private and only subscribers can send email to the list. The list is also confidential, meaning that it will not show up on public lists of Listserv lists. Both of these options reduce problems with SPAM. The list is to be used for Scout related purposes only. Violations of this policy will result in removal from the list.

It is important that only people who are associated with Cherokee District Scouting are allowed to subscribe. A list of unit leaders and contact persons in each unit has been compiled into a database to facilitate screening and to assist with email address problems. No subscription will be added to the list without the approval of the unit leader or previously identified unit contact person.
